Family Matters by Rose Finch

Sophie’s life has just got back on track, when in a single day all is shattered.
Bewildered and blindsided she must pick up the pieces of her life.
Realizing there is no going back to her perfectly plotted life, Sophie is forced to seek refuge.
So she heads home; first to the English countryside into her parents nurturing arms,
and then to a quaint Italian village and into the inspiring and receptive arms of her nonna Rosa.
Will she find happiness again and could love make an unexpected appearance along the way?

I most certainly did get away this summer, without even leaving my sofa!

The cover is so pretty with its pastel colours, that’s what drew me to want to read it.

This was an easy to read book with a lovely main character. Each chapter had me gripped and I adored my time in Italy, having never been before.

I feel the ending was possibly left open for a second book and even the cook book? I’d love to read the cook book.

It was a very enjoyable read and I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I give this book 5*

If the Creek Don’t Rise by Leah Weiss

My Thanks to @Sourcebooks who sent over this book to me through @NetGalley. Here is my #Review #BookBlogger

This is a debut novel by Leah Weiss and it really is good.I loved the cover of this book, it made me want to know more about the girl. It is a story told from different points of view where all the story starts to fall into place. It is a tearjerker so be ready for it, but a truly remarkable read. The people of Baines Creek are honest and gritty folk. This is a book of abuse and scandal but so well written.

I rate this book 5/5

The Charming Predator by Lee Mackenzie

This #TrueStory from @RandomHouseCA which I received from @NetGalley is a truly powerful story. How the author fell in love, was betrayed and lied to.

I kind of got rather bored half way through but carried on regardless. This story came over as if the writer didn’t really care but that could just have been how I was reading it.

I rate this book 3/5

Unbreakable: 50 Goals in 39 Games, Wayne Gretzky and the Story of Hockey’s Greatest Record by Todd Denault & Mike Brophy

When the lovely Canadian Publishers @RandomHouseCA gave me the opportunity to review #Unbreakable a story of #IceHockey, I was over the moon @ToddDenault & @HockeyBroph had put together this book.

Its a really interesting read for all ice hockey fans, young and old. There are some great stories too of players names you are guaranteed to recognise. If you love Ice Hockey this book is for you.

I rate this book 5/5
